Coaching
Talking about change is easy. Doing it is the part that counts.
This is coaching for people who are tired of knowing what they should do and still not doing it.
We build habits, resilience and confidence that last. Every session ends with an action.
Coaching, not therapy
Let's be clear from the start.
Therapy often looks back and asks why. Coaching looks forward and asks what now?
We won't spend our sessions going over the past. We'll work out where you are, where you want to be, and the smallest real steps that get you there. Then you take them, and we look honestly at what happened.
Less talking in circles. More doing.
What we work on
- Habits that stick
- Not a new routine that lasts for a fortnight. Small, repeatable actions built around your real life, not an ideal version of it.
- Resilience
- How you respond when the week goes wrong, the plan falls apart or motivation disappears. That can be trained, like anything else.
- Confidence and self-belief
- Walking into the room, starting the thing, backing yourself, even when part of you doesn't feel ready.
- Consistency over intensity
- Research on exercise and mental health keeps showing the same pattern: how often you show up matters more than how hard you push. The same goes for most of life.
- Mental performance
- For people who train, compete or are preparing for an event: pressure, pacing, self-talk, and the part of performance that never shows on your watch.
Is this right for you?
This is for you if…
- you know what you want to change, but keep getting stuck at "starting on Monday"
- you're broadly okay, but want to feel stronger, steadier and more in control
- you're ready to try things between sessions, not just talk about them
- you want someone to be honest with you and keep you accountable
This isn't the right fit if…
- you're in crisis or struggling to stay safe right now
- you're looking for diagnosis, treatment or help working through trauma
That's not me turning you away. It's me pointing you to the right support first. Your GP, a therapist or the services at the bottom of this page are the place to start, and coaching can come later, alongside that support if it helps.
How it works
Free intro call
20–30 minutes, online or phone. We talk about what you want to change and whether coaching is the right fit. No pressure and no sales pitch.
Your first session
We get specific: where you are now, what "better" actually looks like, and your first action.
Action between sessions
This is where the change happens. You take the step. I check in mid-week, so it doesn't get quietly forgotten.
Review and build
Each session starts with what happened, not what you meant to do. We keep what works, adjust what doesn't, and build the next step.
Sessions & prices
All sessions are 60 minutes. In person in Edinburgh, or online anywhere.

The 12-session block
For deeper, longer-lasting change, and moves from weekly to fortnightly sessions as you become more independent. Sessions are used within 16 weeks.
Both blocks include a mid-week check-in between sessions, and a short written action plan after each session.
Good to know
- You can mix online and in-person sessions within a block (charged at the in-person rate).

About me
You've started over more than once.
That shows how much you want this. What's been missing is a way to make it stick.
Most people I work with already know what they want to change. What they need is a clear plan and someone in their corner while they carry it out. On top of that comes everything underneath: confidence, pressure, old habits, the story they tell themselves about who they are.
Change is hard to steer on your own.
I'm Patrycja, coach and founder of Train & Thrive.
For over 10 years I've supported people through change.
In a mental health charity, I sat across from people one-to-one as they worked through some of the hardest moments of their lives: coming back after a difficult season, finding their feet after a setback, rebuilding their future after a loss.
Alongside that, I've coached people through movement, from community sport to group exercise and performance training. And I've studied psychology to understand what's happening underneath.
I've watched the same thing happen again and again, in a quiet room and on a busy training floor: people change when someone believes they can, and helps them build the plan.
Here's how I work:
- You set the direction. It's your life and your goals. I won't hand you someone else's plan.
- I help you build the steps. Small, specific and realistic for your actual week.
- I stay beside you. I'll check in, notice when you're drifting, and be honest with you, kindly.
Not a lecture. Not a cheerleader. A partner in the work.

Do I need to be into fitness?
No. Movement often comes into it because it's one of the most reliable tools we have for mood, stress and resilience, but coaching is about your goals, whatever they are.
Online or in person: which is better?
Both work. In person suits people who like a set time and place. Online suits busy weeks and anyone outside Edinburgh. You can switch between them.
What if I don't know exactly what I want to change?
That's what the intro call is for. "I feel stuck and I want to feel different" is a perfectly good place to start.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. The only exception is if I'm seriously worried about your safety or someone else's. In that case, I'd talk to you first about getting the right support.
One small step
You don't need to feel ready.
You need one small, repeatable action. Taken this week, not "eventually".
The first one can be this.
